About Me
Resume

I'm a climate journalist based in Istanbul, Turkey.

I started journalism at Hürriyet Daily News in 2015. After a brief interlude of working in civil society, I returned to reporting as a freelancer, focusing on stories related to climate change.

My background is in International Relations: I hold an MA from King's College, London (completed with full scholarship), and a BA from Koç University in Istanbul.

I do my best to gain a better understanding of the scientific and technical debates surrounding climate change through MOOCs, trainings and webinars. That said, I also understand that climate change impacts almost every aspect of our social and economic systems, and believe that my background in social sciences is very useful in navigating these discussions.

I am also a member of the December 2023 cohort of the Oxford Climate Journalism Network.
