About Me
Resume

I'm a climate journalist currently based in Barcelona.

I started journalism at Hürriyet Daily News, Turkey's leading English-language newspaper, in 2015. After a brief interlude of working in civil society, I returned to reporting as a freelancer in 2019, focusing on stories related to climate change.

My background is in International Relations: I hold an MA from King's College, London (completed with full scholarship), and a BA from Koç University in Istanbul.

I mainly report on Turkey's climate policies, as well as how climate change affects Turkey and the Mediterranean. Having recently relocated to Spain, my aim is to expand my coverage and to investigate regional problems.

Last year, I had the privilege of reporting from COP29 as part of the Climate Change Media Partnership Fellowship. I was also a member of the December 2023 cohort of the Oxford Climate Journalism Network.
